As announced by email and post, from 01.07.23 our card payment service provider will only process transactions from Apple devices with iOS 15 or newer. This ensures compliance with the latest security standards.
In addition, card payments will only work from orderbird PRO app version 7.6. or newer.
If transactions suddenly no longer go through, please check whether you are working with the latest iOS and app version and update these if necessary. This is how it works:
How to perform an iOS update
Important: Please make sure that your shift is closed before you start the update. Download the update to all your Apple devices so that you can continue using swarm mode smoothly.
If you are working with multiple devices, check for each device which "software version" (iOS) you are currently working with. To do this, go to "Settings" > "General" > "About" on your Apple device.
- Please update to iOS version 15 or 16. You can find out how to do this here: Update iOS on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Update your orderbird PRO app next

Can't update to iOS 15 or later?
If you can't update your Apple device, it's probably due to outdated hardware. Therefore, we recommend that you upgrade to a new iPad or iPod today. Get an overview of the compatible iPod and iPad models here: Which Apple devices and iOS versions are compatible with orderbird PRO?
What happens if I do not perform an iOS update?
Cashless payments with orderbird Payments will only work on devices with at least iOS 15 as of June 2023.
Updates for your orderbird PRO app will only be made available for Apple devices with iOS 15 or later. Functions in the app may be restricted on older iOS versions if there is unwanted behavior in the app due to increased compatibility issues.
Why does the iOS need to be updated?
Running on outdated iOS versions (=operating system on your Apple device) frequently leads to compatibility issues with orderbird PRO and increased errors, such as synchronization problems. In addition, cashless payments via orderbird Payments often lead to errors. To prevent these errors, future versions of the orderbird PRO app and orderbird Payments will only work with iOS 15 or later.
