From January 1st, 2024, changed VAT rates will apply in both Germany and Switzerland.

How to update the tax rates for your menu

  1. As usual, you can manually update the affected tax rates of the items on your menu individually in the orderbird PRO app: Adjust tax rates in my menu yourself.
  2. In order to make the VAT change as easy as possible for you, we have developed a function that automatically updates the tax rates with a click on a button in MY orderbird. We provide this service to you for a one-time fee of 49 euros net. To do this, go to MY orderbird and click on “VAT change Jan 2024” at the top left.

    Please note!

The automated update takes place after you actively approved the automatic change, which you can do until and no later than 31.12.2023.

To ensure that the updated tax rates are also reflected in your orderbird PRO app, restart the orderbird PRO app once in 2024 on all your devices and open a new shift.

For Germany : All items with tax rates other than 7% or outside the super family group “Food” will not be changed.

For Switzerland : All items with tax rates other than 7.7%, 2.5% and 3.7% will not be changed.

If you use DATEV , please remember to adjust the stored account numbers for the product groups and/or items accordingly.

After the update, check whether all items have been assigned the correct tax rate. orderbird assumes no liability for the correct assignment of the tax rate.
