If the error message “Sicherheitseinrichtung ausgefallen” is repeatedly appearing on your receipts, it is likely due to an unstable local network connection. Follow the steps below to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Analyze your network!
- Access network stability check: Open the main menu in the orderbird app. Tap on the small question mark (?) in the top-right corner of your iPod/iPhone or the top-left corner of your iPad. Then, select “Network stability”.
-
Evaluate the network status:
- Look for the statuses of “Router,” “Internet,” and “my.orderbird.” Ideally, all three should be in the green zone.
- If “Router” is yellow or red, move around the room with your device and check for changes. The Wi-Fi signal should remain stable in the green range.
If the “Router,” “Internet,” and “my.orderbird” statuses are consistently green in some areas of your store but not in others, the issue is likely caused by inconsistent Wi-Fi signal transmission from your router or repeaters. The good news is you can usually fix this yourself by adjusting the placement of your routers and repeaters.
Step 2: Fixing Wi-Fi signal issues
To ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection, keep the following tips in mind:
- Generally good to know: Wi-Fi signals radiate in a circular pattern, and their range depends on the device.
- Position your router and repeaters as high as possible—ideally at least 180 cm above the ground.
- Minimize obstacles such as glass fronts, doors, stone or metal walls, microwaves, and large aquariums, as these can weaken the signal.
If your router or repeater has antennas, make sure they are:
- Firmly screwed on for stable signal transmission.
- Vertically positioned, with the tips pointing straight up toward the ceiling or floor.
If you’re using orderbird routers or repeaters, keep in mind:
- The Wi-Fi range is about 7 meters per device.
- The signal radius is approx. seven meters. Ideally, the router and repeater should be no more than seven meters apart or no more than seven meters away from the places where you need a WLAN signal.
-
Device-specific details:
- WDR3600 model has 2 antennas
- AC1750 model has 3 antennas.

Avoid signal loss with LAN cable
For the best performance, connect your Wi-Fi devices via a LAN cable whenever possible. This ensures a stable connection and prevents speed loss caused by weak or inconsistent Wi-Fi signals.
